Bali Swing Guide: What to Know Before You Book

Safety rigging, photo packages, weight limits and how to pick between the jungle and cliff swings.

Bali Swing Guide: What to Know Before You Book

Bali swings fall into two families: jungle swings on the edges of river valleys inland from Ubud, and cliff swings on the Bukit peninsula facing open ocean. They feel different. The jungle arc is longer and greener; the cliff arc is shorter but the drop-off view is more dramatic.

Safety is the thing to check

The part that matters is whether you are clipped into a safety line independent of the swing rope. Reputable operators use a full-body harness plus a separate belay. Ask before booking — the answer should be immediate and specific.

Photos

Some operators include the photo set, others sell it afterwards at a markup that can exceed the price of the swing itself. Check what is included before you pay.

Weight and age

Most swings cap at 100 kg and set a minimum age between 7 and 10. Tandem swings have their own combined limit.

Timing

First and last slots of the day have the best light and the smallest crowds. Midday is harsh for photos and hot on the platform.
